DOLC3 is a pop/R&B girl group trio based in Arizona. For their 3rd single, "5to9", they were looking for an illustrative approach to their marketing. I worked with the members to create a a full visual campaign for this "after work" anthem, including a cover illustration, lyric video, T-shirt and sticker design. The song continues to be a fan-favorite among DOLC3's dedicated follower base, and consistently ranks as one of their top most-streamed songs.
Given that "5to9" is a song about the fun, free-spirited activities the members enjoy doing outside of their full-time jobs, I knew I wanted the cover art to speak to both sides: working by day, partying by night.
I explored a few different setting options, including an office, a vanity mirror, and a convertible driving downtown. DOLC3 chose the 3rd option, and I illustrated a scene of the members having a fun, carefree attitude while driving under neon lights. In the reflection of a glass window they're driving past, I illustrated a blurry version of the 3 of them dressed in lab coats as a reference to their full-time jobs in the medical field.
I also made some "fashion doll" style explorations of potential outfits for the cover art. We ended up going with a more casual street style for all 3 members in the final product.

I was later tasked to design a T-shirt in the same illustrative style as the cover art.
DOLC3 wanted to debut the shirts for sale at their first headline concert. So in honor of that, I illustrated the 3 members inside ticket-shaped frames. The back of the shirt features a cleaner version of the "DOLC3" license plate that is also depicted on the cover art.
We decided to also print this particular design as a sticker to sell as a lower ticket item at the concert. Both were a huge hit at the concert, and the shirts completely sold out!
